Photographed by Fred Lusk on October 27, 2004
From California State University, Fresno
Description: We are now about halfway between contact U1 (the start of the umbral phase) and contact U2 (start of total phase), which means it's about 6:45 p.m. The curve of Earth's shadow is just one of the ways to prove that Earth is spherical, not flat.
Imaging Camera: Olympus OM-4T (35 mm SLR)
Imaging Scope/Lens: Celestron C5+ SCT (1250 mm FL, f/10)
Mount/Tripod: Celestron C5+ single fork arm with integrated wedge
Guide Scope/Camera: None
Exposure Details: Film: Kodak EliteChrome 200. Exposure data is missing, but this was probably around 1/30 sec. Slides were scanned by Boot's Camera.
