Description:
The Butterfly Cluster, catalogued as M6 and NGC6405, is an open cluster located in the constellation Scorpius. It lies at a distance of approximately 1,600 light years from Earth.

Imaging Scope/Lens:
Orion Astrograph 8" f/3.9 Newtonian
 
Mount/Tripod:
Celestron CGEM (Hypertuned)
 
Guide Scope/Camera:
Orion Astrograph 8" f/3.9 Newtonian
 
Exposure Details:
Camera settings were ISO 1600 with 45-second exposures. A total of 40 light frames, 15 dark frames, and 50 each of flat, dark flat, and bias frames were stacked to create this final image.
