Description: The Swan Nebula, catalogued as M17 and NGC6618, is a hydrogen emission nebula located in the constellation Sagittarius. It lies approximately 5,500 light years from Earth.
Imaging Camera: Canon EOS 60D
Imaging Scope/Lens: Orion Astrograph 8" f/3.9 Newtonian
Mount/Tripod: Celestron CGEM (Hypertuned)
Guide Scope/Camera: Orion Shorttube 80mm w/ Starshoot Autoguider
Exposure Details: Camera settings were ISO 1600 with 150-second exposures. A total of 26 lights, 10 darks, and 50 each of flats, dark flats, and bias frames were stacked to create this final image. Processed in Photoshop CS6 using Scott Rosen's DSLR LLRGB processing method.
