The Lagoon Nebula

Description:
The Lagoon Nebula, known as Messier 8 and NGC6523, is a large emission nebula in the constellation Sagittarius. It is approximately 4,100 light years from Earth.

Imaging Scope/Lens:
Orion Astrograph 8" f/3.9 Newtonian
 
Mount/Tripod:
Celestron CGEM (Hypertuned)
 
Guide Scope/Camera:
Orion Shorttube 80mm w/ Starshoot Autoguider
 
Exposure Details:
Camera settings were ISO 1600 with 3-minute exposures. A total of 27 lights, 10 darks, and 50 each of flats, dark flats, and bias frames were stacked to create this final image. Processed in Photoshop CS6 using Scott Rosen's DSLR LLRGB processing method.
