What are the activities of the Central Valley Astronomers?
Our goals are:
- Educate the local community about astronomy.
- Enjoy observing the night sky at star parties.
- Welcome and educate new members, and foster interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
- Improve our understanding of the vastness of space.
- Have fun with other club members!
How do I become a member?
Becoming a member is as simple as submitting your information and paying dues. Your membership begins immediately on payment and expires at the end of the same month of the following year. For example, if you pay on July 6, 2023, your membership is valid until July 31, 2024.
If you are an existing member, we still recommend submitting your information so that our records are kept up to date. If you are a new member, we encourage you to visit us at one of our meetings after joining so that we can meet you and introduce ourselves.
We have very few annual expenses, e.g., insurance for sidewalk astronomy events, and we do not charge for attendance to any star parties or events.
